This is one of the better flashlights compared with many different cheaper flashlights.
The adjustment of focus allows for wide lighting up close while walking as well as focused lighting for identifying targets at longer ranges. The effective focused range seems to be about 250 yards, which is quite good for flashlights in this price range.
